Dr. Joanne Brosh joined Carolina Demography in March 2019 as a research analyst focusing primarily on the North Carolina education pipeline and related areas.

She has worked as a program evaluator with the North Carolina General Assembly, where she assessed the efficiency and effectiveness of state programs. Previous jobs include working as a research associate with the North Carolina Partnership for Children and as a program specialist in evaluation at the United States Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

In all of these positions, the majority of her research and evaluation work has centered on education issues and programs (early childhood, secondary, and postsecondary), either at the state or federal level. She earned her BS in Psychology from Ursinus College and her MA and PhD in Social Psychology and Sociology from the University of Nevada, Reno.
