The 2020 Census Population & Housing for Redistricting (NC Only) files created by Carolina Demography may contain the following variables:

NAME or NAMELSAD	official name of the place
CONAME			county name
SUMLEV 			summary level (the geographic entity the Bureau is rolling up)
GEOCODE			unique geographic code (helps to link between other data sets)
STATE			state FIPS code
COUNTY			county FIPS code
PLACEFP			place FIPS code
TRACT			census tract FIPS code
BLKGRP			census block group FIPS code
BLOCK			census block FIPS code
POP2020			2020 Census Population
HU2020			2020 Census Housing Units

Note: 2020_block_pop_only.csv has one row (column A) that is a record ID from the export from R. This data can be ignored.
